Cobb Xtreme’s 2011-2012 tentative information
Tryouts will be held on 11/3 and 11/6; you can visit our website for time slots for the different age groups and there will be a $50 non refundable fee due at the time of the tryout. If the player wants to attend 1 or both sessions, the cost will be covered by this fee.
The cost for the season will be between $900 and $1000 and this covers entry into our regions volleyball association, coaches’ fees, tournaments, uniforms, equipment purchases, uniforms & administrative costs etc. The season starts in November and will end when we play our Regional tournament sometime in April.
We normally participate in 6-8 local tournaments with the big named local ones being the Peachtree Classic, The Big South Qualifier and our Regional finals. We have traveled to Tennessee, Alabama and North Carolina to play in the out of state tournaments.
Tournaments are normally 1 day (Saturday) but there are a few that are 2 days (Saturday & Sunday) and there is even a 3 day (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). These are chosen by the Coaches and they will give you as much advanced notice as possible on their tournament selections.
We will be practicing (depends on the amount of teams that enroll will determine their particular time slots) at Macland Presbyterian Church and/or Wild Horse Creek Park which are both located in the Powder Springs area. If necessary, we will use Covenant Christian Ministries Academy’s gym, in Marietta.
The purchase of the uniforms are for the athletes to keep, and in the past it has consisted of 2 jerseys, shorts, shoes and warm ups. Mizuno, Asics and Rox have been the preferred choices over the last few seasons.
